Program Review
The 10th International Meeting on Fully
Three-Dimensional Image Reconstruction in Radiology and
Nuclear Medicine was held in Beijing, China, from September
5 to 10, 2009. The scientific part of the meeting took place
in the International Conference Hall in Tsinghua University
Science Park (TusPark). During the whole meeting,
- 158 registrants and 172 participants joined the
conference.
- 112 papers were presented as
- 46 oral presentations and
- 66 posters.
 
A short course was given for young researchers to
build up systematic background knowledge on September 5,
2009. 78 participants attended this short course.
 
The 2nd workshop on High Performance Image
Reconstruction (HPIR) also adjoined the 10th Fully3D Meeting
on September 6, 2009. 72 participants attended this workshop
which has 10 oral presentations and 10 posters. Three papers
won the best paper awards of HPIR:
- 1st: Simon Rit, Marcel van Herk and Jan-Jakob
Sonke. "Fast distance-driven projection and
truncation management for iterative cone-beam CT
reconstruction".
- 2nd: Wei Xu and Klaus Mueller. "A
Performance-Driven Study of Regularization Methods for
GPU-Accelerated Iterative CT".
- 3rd: Hannes Hofmann, Benjamin Keck and Christopher
Rohkohl, Joachim Hornegger."Towards C-arm CT
Reconstruction on Larrabee".
 
The main meeting was held form Sept. 7 ~ 10, 2009
which has 36 oral presentations and 56 posters. Four papers
won the best paper awards and best poster awards,
respectively. Best paper awards are wined by:
- Jian Zhou,Sara St. James, Simon Cherry and Jinyi
Qi. "Adaptive 3D PET Imaging Using a
High-Resolution Detector".
- Kai Zeng, Bruno De Man and Jean-Baptiste Thibault.
"Correction of Iterative Reconstruction Artifacts in
Helical Cone-Beam CT".
Best poster awards are wined by:
- F.C. Sureau and M. Defrise. "Discretization
of the Two-step Hilbert Transform for Truncated Data
Reconstruction".
- Yong Long, Jeffrey A. Fessler and James M. Balter.
"A 3D Forward and Back-Projection Method for X-Ray CT Using
Separable Footprint".
