Second Workshop on
High Performance Image Reconstruction (HPIR) 2009
Date: September 6, 2009
The 2nd HPIR workshop, that is adjoining the 10th
Fully3D Meeting, will focus on computational optimization
techniques to maximize the performance of medical image
reconstruction algorithms in radiology and nuclear
medicine. The workshop provides insight into the latest
hardware developments, and researchers from both industry
and academia will present their work in the areas of CBE,
CPU, FPGA and GPU-based medical image reconstruction and
discuss pros and cons of the various approaches.
Platforms/Architectures:
* CPU, multi-core CPU, and many-core CPU (Larrabee)
* Commodity graphics hardware (GPU)
* Cell Broadband Engine (CBE)
* FPGA
Methods/Modalities:
* CT, MR, PET, SPECT, OT, US, and others
* Multi-modality imaging
* Clinical and preclinical imaging
* Tomographic image reconstruction
The HPIR workshop will start with review papers
discussing the current hardware platforms along with a
short introduction of programming techniques. The second
part will be dedicated to scientific presentations and
posters selected from submitted scientific manuscripts.
The deadline for manuscript submission is
April 3, 2009. IEEE two-column style, up to four pages.
Submit your pdf file through our online paper submission
system by choosing category to be "HPIR workshop".
Papers presented at the HPIR will be published in
the proceedings of the 2009 Fully3D meeting.
The best papers will be awarded during the workshop, honoring excellence in originality and scientific impact of both submitted abstract and presentation.
Workshop chairs:
Prof. Dr. Klaus Mueller, Stony Brook, NY, USA
